Racing down the Duel Lanes, Rika had caught up with Toru and Misaki, each with hopes of the loser paying for their drinks.
"How's it going back there, Rika?" Toru laughed at the head of the trio, his black Duel Runner maintaining a steady lead, "I hope you brought your purse with you!"
"I was about to say the same thing, lug nut!" Rika giggled back, prepared to try overtaking her friends on her green bike. Just as she was about to accelerate, the ghostly figure of a woman appeared to her right; this was one of her guardian Duel Spirits, Divine Grace – Northwemko.
"Rika, I sense a dark presence is attempting to enter your world," Northwemko told her, a look of concern on her face, "Something unlike any we've felt before."
"I concur and as you know, it must be a serious threat if Northwemko and I agree," a blue humanoid creature appeared to her left, a stern tone in his growling voice; this was her other Spirit, the fiendish Garlandolf, King of Destruction.
"Man, you two are such buzz-kills," Rika muttered, unconcerned as to whether her friends heard her or not, "Look around, everything's fine; blue skies, blue waters and typical day-to-day business, just like always."
"Then explain that, child," Garlandolf pointed towards a gathering of dark clouds above the stadium, something nobody had noticed until now, "Is that part of day-to-day business?"
"Hey, guys, check it out!" Toru pointed at the stadium himself, looking back at Misaki for answers, "What was the weather forecast for today?"
"... I do not remember rainclouds ever gathering in a focussed area like that," Misaki told him, the usual blank expression on her face, "Perhaps we should investigate."
"First turn-off, guys; we'll have to leave the bet for now, let's get to the bottom of this!" Rika hit the throttle and roared past her friends, who accelerated after her; the closer they got to the stadium, the more a blue trident-shaped mark on her right arm began to glow, accompanied by the roar of a dragon in her ears, "So, you feel it, too, Trish?" The dragon growled in agreement, which made Rika even more focussed; if these clouds caused Trishula to feel uneasy, then they must be serious business.

After only a few minutes ride, the trio finally arrived at the New Domino stadium, watching as Sector Security kept a huge crowd of onlookers behind yellow police tape.
"Is all this really necessary?" Toru asked as a group of Securities passed by, "I mean, it's just a bunch of clouds, how bad could it be?"
"... Toru, we do not understand anything about this situation," Misaki calmly interrupted him, "And I doubt Sector Security do, either; we should probably stay back and let them sort it out."
"I doubt Securities could ever sort this kinda stuff out," Toru chuckled, trying not to let the guards overhear him, "C'mon, Rika, I'm sure even you could work it out before they do."
"What do you think it could be?" Rika asked her Duel Spirits, unable to take her eyes off the rolling black clouds high above the stadium.
"I am not sure, but I do not like this feeling," Northwemko replied, "It is cold, dark..."
"Hey, Rika, are you listening?" Toru asked, but went unanswered.
"Whatever it is, Trish is getting pretty worked up," Rika muttered, looking at the glowing mark on her arm, "If she's concerned about it, I should check it out."
"Hold back, child, this is not something you can just walk into," Garlandolf stopped her, apparently concerned about her safety, which was very unlike him, "Whatever is causing these clouds is unlike anything you've faced before, you must be completely prepared for whatever comes your way, so you should wait here until we know exactly what we're up against."
"If you say so," Rika sighed, concerned that she couldn't do anything to help but keep her distance.
"Hey, Rika!" another voice yelled, catching the team's attention as a young man in a blue jacket parked up beside them on a red Duel Runner, removing his helmet to reveal his black and yellow hair .
"Yusei," Rika's face lit up, pleased at his arrival, "Am I glad to see you, any idea what's with these clouds?"
"I was hoping you could tell me," Yusei replied, a serious look on his face as he stared at the cloud above them, "My Signer mark's going crazy over it."
"Trishula's getting upset about it, too," Rika nodded, taking the card from her deck, hearing her dragon's roar again, "Whatever's causing those clouds, it must be pretty serious to make her act like this."
"She's talking about her cards again, isn't she?" Toru muttered to Misaki, who just glared back at him.
"Well, whatever's causing it, I'm going to find out," Rika grunted, putting her helmet back on and firing up her Duel Runner's engine, "Nobody upsets Trish and gets away with it."
"Hang on," speaking over her engine, Yusei handed Rika two cards, "I don't know what's beyond those clouds, but these should help you out."
"Stardust Dragon and Starlight Road?" Rika was surprised, Yusei almost never let his Stardust Dragon out of his sight, yet it was right there in her hand, "Yusei, I can't..."
"They'll protect you," Yusei grinned back, "With those, I'll be at your side through any duel."
"Hey, hey, wait," Toru interrupted them, handing Rika a card of his own, "If Yusei's giving you free cards, then so am I."
"Thanks, Toru," Rika grinned, looking at her friend's card, "Scrap Archfiend?"
"Yeah, it'll help if you wanna summon your Gaia Drake," Toru grinned, "Plus it's a Scrap monster, so it'll be like I'm Dueling right along with you."
"... And this," Misaki also placed a card in Rika's hand, one of her own monsters, "It would honour me if you use my Wattgiraffe in a Duel."
"Aw, you guys," Rika giggled, sliding the cards into her deck.
"So, how're you going to get through?" Toru asked, pointing to the guards in their way, "I doubt the Securities will move if you tell them 'This mark on my arm's glowing the closer I get to those clouds, so can you let me through, please?'"
"I'll come up with something..." Rika thought, noticing some guards standing by a gate leading to the field of the stadium; with a grin on her face, she hit the accelerator and sped off, leaving her friends behind.
"Rika, what're you doing!?" Toru yelled after her, but he was drowned out over Rika's Duel Runner engine; just as the Securities noticed the roar of the engine, Rika flew past them in a flash of green, leaving the guards stunned as she roared down the tunnel to the field.
"Hey, come back here!" one of the Securities yelled after her, but his voice didn't carry far enough to be heard as Rika finally reached the duel field; no matter how many times she saw the inside of the arena, she couldn't get over the grandeur of it all, letting out a sigh of awe.
"She went this way, c'mon!" Noticing the footsteps of more Securities were gaining on her, Rika scanned the arena for the source of the dark clouds.
"C'mon, where is it?" she grumbled to herself, hearing the shouts of the guards getting closer; at the centre of the duel field was a dark smog, which was all Rika needed to confirm her suspicions.
"Stop right there, princess!" Just as the Securities closed the gap, Rika took off once more, charging full speed towards the black mist; as she got closer she got to the smog, a blue light began to surround her Duel Runner, accompanied by the growl of her dragon.
"Alright, Trishula, just you and me; let's blow these clouds away, together!" Rika chuckled to her monster, to which the Dragon of the Ice Barrier roared in agreement, accelerating to full speed and disappearing through the fog; stepping out onto the Duel Field, the Securities paused to catch their breath, looking around for their target.
"Where'd she go?"
"She couldn't hide her Runner out here; we came through the only entrance!"
"Spread out and find her, we can't let Director Lazar find out about this!"

Despite how focussed the smog was, Rika kept moving forward like she was heading down a road, the dark clouds seeming to go on forever; despite laying off the throttle, her Duel Runner continued moving at full speed, which had never happened before.
"Why aren't we stopping?" Rika shouted over her bike's engine, to which the roar of Trishula answered; spotting a light in the distance, Trishula growled again, as if directing Rika towards it, "Over there, huh? Well, if you say so, lead the way." The dragon roared once more as the Duel Runner charged onwards towards the light, disappearing from the smog in a bright flash.

Stepping back out into the empty arena with his kit bag slung over his shoulder, Streak took a deep breath and smiled, looking up and noticing a gathering of black clouds through the open ceiling; one of the clouds began to lower towards the duel field, which sent a chill down his back.
"Ok, that is definitely not good," Streak muttered, the ghostly Duel Spirit of Sasuke Samurai appearing beside him, "Isn't all this weird stuff supposed to follow Jaden around?" Sasuke Samurai shrugged in reply, unable to comment as he lacked a mouth, the pair covering their eyes as a bright flash of light burst from the dark cloud; as the light faded, Streak moved his arms just enough to see a motorcycle heading towards him, jumping back in fear of being run over, "Hey, watch where you're going!" As the bike screeched to a halt, the rider sat back and removed their helmet, revealing a girl with a pair of green pigtails, looking back over their shoulder at him.
"Sorry about that, miss," the rider apologised, soon realising who she'd nearly run over, "Hey, you're..."
"Why does everybody think I'm a girl?" Streak tutted in annoyance at her comment, jumping back in surprise as the rider appeared in his face, "Whoa, ever heard of personal space?"
"Dad? Dad, is that you?" the girl asked, the puzzled look on her face soon turning into a huge grin, "Wow, I had no idea how well your old clothes now fit you, have you lost weight? A lot of weight?"
"Excuse me!?" Streak panicked, his eyes widened in shock, "Look, missy, I'm can't be your dad, I'm..."
"Streak Nakamura, I know!" the girl interrupted him, unable to contain her excitement, "That's my surname, too, Rika Nakamura!"
"Ok, so we have the same surname, that doesn't mean I'm your dad," Streak sighed, "Cousins or long-lost relatives, maybe, but not..."
"Hey, there's Sasuke Samurai!" Rika interrupted him again, eagerly chasing his Duel Spirit, "I have one of those in my Turbo deck!"
"Your what deck?" Streak asked, unconcerned about the fact this girl could see Duel Spirits.
"Y'know, the deck I use in Turbo Duels," Rika chuckled back, "Don't tell me your memory's going now."
"I'm only sixteen," Streak muttered to himself, screaming in surprise as a fiendish blue face appeared beside him, "Gah, what's that!?"
"Rika, do you realise why he is so much younger?" the blue creature asked, its mouth lined with sharp teeth.
"I never thought of that," Rika stopped messing around with Sasuke Samurai to ponder this fact.
"That fog must have brought us back in time," a ghostly blonde woman in a black dress appeared beside her, a golden staff in one hand; "He does not remember you because you have not been born yet."
"Really? Awesome," Rika grinned with delight, "So, dad, any clue what's with the clouds?"
"Says the one who's popped out from it and is apparently my daughter from the future," Streak sighed in annoyance, walking around her motocycle, "So, what's with the bike?"
"That's my Duel Runner," Rika smiled, sitting back in the rider's seat, "People use them to duel while racing, it's pretty fun."
"Dueling and driving? Sounds dangerous," Streak muttered, feeling something being thrust into his hands, "A helmet?"
"Sure, whatever's causing these clouds must be serious if it's in both our times," Rika chuckled, putting her own helmet on, "Hop on, dad; let's see where it leads next!"
"I'll never get used to you calling me that," Streak muttered, putting his helmet on and taking a seat behind her, his arms around her waist.
"Alright, let's do this," Rika cheered, hitting the throttle and revving up the engine, "Hang on tight!"
"I think I should tell you, I'm not too keen on going really faaaaaaaaast!" Streak screamed as the Duel Runner took off, leaving a green trail behind them as they vanished into the black smog again.

Proudly strolling down the street after his victory, Yajuu whistled cheerfully to himself, pleased that he'd proven he was the best to another Duelist; it was getting late and the sun was already setting, if he was late home again, his parents would confiscate his deck, "Aw, man, mom's gonna kill me if I miss dinner again!" As his stroll became a jog, Yajuu soon noticed a dark cloud appearing and covering the setting sun, but it was the only cloud in the sky, "Ok, that is so not normal." As he slowed down again and watched, a black fog soon descended from the cloud before him and out from a bright flash, a weird motorcycle sped past him, quickly breaking as the passenger screamed for the driver to slow down.
"Man, no wonder you never let me learn to ride sooner," the driver giggled, her passenger stumbling off the bike and leaning against it for balance.
"When I tell you I'm not fond of going fast, you don't go fast," the passenger took off their helmet, revealing a familiar face to Yajuu.
"Well, if I didn't gain enough speed, we'd never get through the fog," the girl took off her own helmet, placing it in a compartment under her seat, noticing the onlooker, "Oh, hi there!"
"Hey, you're that dude from the island," Yajuu greeted the passenger, "Um... Fleet, right?"
"Streak, actually," the green-haired young man soon regained his balance, "At least you remember my face, Yajuu."
"Good to see ya, how's it going?" Yajuu shook his friend's hand, looking past him at the rider, "And who's the chick, your girlfriend?"
"His daughter, actually," the girl introduced herself, "I'm Rika, Streak's daughter, from the future."
"The what-now?" Yajuu was puzzled, only remembering time travel from the movies he'd watched, "But she looks the same age as you, how can she be your kid?"
"It's a long and very weird story," Streak sighed, noticing the black clouds above them beginning to descend, "And it can wait, things are gonna get even weirder!"
